All About the Move was set up to take away the stress people feel when moving home, including those who may find it difficult due to their individual needs and circumstances. The example below demonstrates how our end-to-end move management concept is brought to life. And how it changed a life. We were humbled to be a part of it.

Overview

Our client, looking to retire, wished to move from his top floor flat as it no longer met his lifestyle or health requirements. Having struggled to maintain the interior of the property in recent years the initial valuation had come in at £140-150,000. Like most of us, our client loved his flat and knew it was worth so much more than that, but simply didn’t know where to start on improving his situation.

To take away the stress from our client and make his move as easy and smooth as possible.

This required a multi layered approach involving a number of our services including:

  • Liaising with everyone involved in the process, from family members to estate agents and solicitors, and providing one central point of contact.
  • Helping the client into temporary accommodation while the house was on the market.
  • Helping him locate and move into a new home, including all packing and unpacking.
The before

To get our client the best possible sale price for his home, providing him with financial security and peace of mind upon entering retirement.

This was a journey with various steps, which we actioned swiftly and to the highest standard.

  • First, we decluttered, organised, and packed up our client’s belongings.
  • We unpacked his contents into the temporary accommodation.
  • We arranged for our expert team of contractors to come in and conduct a renovation, including a fully-fitted new bathroom, new wiring, re-decorating, adding storage and upgrading the kitchen. This was done with all hands on deck, swiftly, efficiently and to the highest possible standard.
  • We conducted a post-renovation deep clean of the property.

  • We then staged the property using our interior design skills to get it ready for the market. We wanted the best quality photographs and the highest potential number of viewers.
  • We liaised with estate agents and lawyers to get things moving in the right direction, as well as concerned family members who wanted to make sure we took complete care of our client.
  • We organised temporary storage of the furniture.
  • Finally, we moved the client to his new property, providing a full unpack service and arranging his contents in a way that allowed him to be immediately comfortable in his new home.

The Result

The flat was originally valued at £140,000 – £150,000.

We turned that around, getting our client’s property sold just 3 weeks after going on the market for £201,000.

We had wanted to delight our client, and we did.

Even after the £12,000 required for refurbishment, this meant that he still had over £30,000 to put toward his future, securing the best possible retirement.

Being able to change someone’s life for the better, doing something you love doing, isn’t something we take for granted.

We are truly humbled to have been part of this.
